Cadrex opens a third building in Juárez, taking its campus to 573,000 sq ft serving data centers
It announced US$10 million in 2024. Two years later it runs a three-building campus making hardware for data center and artificial intelligence infrastructure.

In 2024, Cadrex announced a US$10 million investment in Juárez, Nuevo León. It was a small announcement, the kind that does not make front pages.
On February 10, 2026, the company opened its third building on that same campus: an additional 168,000 sq ft that brings the complex to 573,000 sq ft, roughly 53,000 square meters of metal fabrication.
What matters is not the size but the reason. According to the company, the expansion was driven by rising demand at the two buildings it already had. It was not a growth plan drawn up at headquarters: they simply filled up.
Who it manufactures for
The campus handles metal fabrication, sub-assembly and final assembly, and its main customers are in the information technology industry: data center infrastructure and applications for artificial intelligence and machine learning.
In other words, Juárez is producing part of the physical hardware behind the AI boom: enclosures, chassis, structures and precision metal components for equipment later installed in data centers.

Why this connects to what is already happening in the state
Nuevo León has been accumulating pieces of this same chain. Equinix opened its MO2 data center in Apodaca with US$250 million. Munters opened its second Apodaca plant to build cooling equipment, one of the critical inputs for a data center. And the state is Mexico's leading exporter of transformers and electrical equipment.
Cadrex adds the metal part. Between the four, something is coming into focus that was not there three years ago: data centers are not just arriving in the state, what goes inside them is being built here too.
A note on the trajectory
The operation was previously called Tenere, before consolidation under the Cadrex brand. And in 2025 the company appeared on The FABRICATOR magazine's FAB 40 list, which recognizes the fastest-growing metal fabricators.
From a US$10 million announcement to a three-building campus in two years. It is one of those cases where the announcement figure fell well short of what actually got built.
